George Excited about Coming to Big D

"I think I still can carry the load. I've shown it last year and the year before after the injury," said Dallas Cowboys' running back Eddie George. "I'm just asking for the opportunity to be the right fit in the right situation, and this could be it. The objective here is to win."

Why your immediate interest in Dallas?
George: I get the sense with Bill Parcells, I feel like Dallas is a team that is under the radar with a lot of great talent. I see this team coming up on the rise. There were a lot of opportunties out there for me in Philadelphia and Tampa Bay, but Dallas is a team that is committed to run. And Bill Parcells, he's taken a lot of teams that were mediocre, and turned them into champions.

Have you given a lot of thought now that you will be playing with a team other than the Titans?
George : It's going to be a quite a change. I'm just going to come in here with an open heart, and a open mind and try to do the things to make this team successful. I think I have a lot left to give. I think in Tennessee they became more of a passing offense and I didn't get my touches. I'm not looking to get the ball 45 times here, I'm looking to help provide a balanced attack in whatever way I can.

Did you have any doubts about Bill Parcells wanting you?
George: No, I didn't. I never had talked to him before other than yesterday. My main focus was purely on the situation in Tennessee at the time. I really never looked at the Dallas situation until it was final.

How is your health?
George: My health is fine. There are no problems with my foot. I had surgery thre years ago and I haven't had a relapse. I've been fine since that injury, and I'm just ready to go.

What does the streak of you not missing a game mean to you?
George: It means I play the game with passion. I show up to work ready to play, even when I'm hurt.

What made you decide to come to Dallas?
George: Dallas was the first team to step up and show interest. With that, it wasn't about the gameplan or anything else. They stepped up, and they wanted me to be a part of the team. That's what made me excited about this opportunity.

Do you feel like you can still be the workhorse for an NFL team?
George: I think I still can carry the load. I've shown it last year and the year before after the injury. I'm just asking for the opportunity to be the right fit in the right situation, and this could be it. The objective here is to win. I'm just going to bring forward everything I've learned as an NFL football player and take it from there.
