Eaton Named Starter

With the suspension of Leo Carson, recent pick up Chad Eaton will start at defensive tackle for the Cowboys in the season opener against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.

Eaton finished the preseason with six total tackles in two games, but not was not expected to serve in a starting capacity.

The former Seattle Seahawk will replace Leo Carson in the starting line up after it was announced that the NFL has suspended Carson for one game due for violating the league's personal conduct policy.

Eaton signed a one-year contract for $660,000 back on August 25.

Eaton signed a free-agent contract with the Seattle Seahawks before the 2001 season after five outstanding years with the Patriots. He started 32 consecutive games in Seattle before missing all of last season with a knee injury.

That knee injury required four surgeries to repair.
