The Cowboys have hired Jacksonville Jaguars assistant special teams coach Anthony Lynn as running backs coach. Lynn replaces Maurice Carthon, who left Dallas to become the Cleveland Browns' offensive coordinator last week.
Lynn had held the same position with the Jacksonville Jaguars until being demoted in January. Under his watch, Jacksonville's Fred Taylor enjoyed a strong resurgence, rushing for close to 2,800 yards.
From 2000 to 2002, he was an offensive assistant and assistant special teams coach for the Denver Broncos.
Lynn, who is 36 years of age and a former star at Texas Tech, played six years in the NFL with San Francisco and Denver before retiring with a neck injury.
Former Cowboys coach Maurice Carthon officially accepted his new job in Cleveland earlier this week.
