What is your mindset going into this weekend's mini-camp?
Henson: You know it's not really where you concern yourself with other people. We have an entirely new team this year with a lot of new faces and a lot of new guys to incorporate what we are doing. This is our first three-day practice really as a team and to me, we are still installing our stuff because a lot of it is new. So you just take it in go out on the field and see where you are. For me, that means keep trying to improve each day and keep things as simple as that.
There has been a lot of talk this offseason about the fact you've thrown 5,000 passes and really tried to work on your mechanics. How has that gone in your eyes?
Henson: When you have time off you are able to work on a thing or two in your game. Basically what I did was take a few weeks to work on some stuff and I feel really good about it. I think it's going to help me be a better quarterback and that's really all that matters.
What is your relationship like with Drew Bledsoe? Is he someone you look to possibly as a mentor, or do you view him as competition?
Henson: Well first and foremost, everyone is on the same team. He's been great since the day he signed. He gave me a call and basically said, 'Hey we are going to have a good time and I'm looking forward to it.' You know we've been out and played golf a couple of times. I have to look at this as another opportunity to have another veteran here that's been through a lot and seen most everything you can. He's got a lot to share and I'm going to try and use that to my benefit.
Is mini-camp really a chance to improve or is this weekend just another necessary evil the life of a professional athlete?
Henson: Well anytime you get out there it's a chance to improve. Your overall timing, the running game, the passing game. We only really have a week-long session during the offseason so it's really important to get as much out of this as we possibly can.
