Monday Insider Camp Report

A host of position changes dominated discussion during Monday morning's practice session in Onxard, Calif. Plus, Bill Parcells talks more about back up running back Anthony Thomas' role this year.

POSITION CHANGES: Head coach Bill Parcells announced several position changes Monday morning. LB Eric Ogbogu will be back at defensive end for the next several days.

"I thought I'd get him a little line work and then in another couple of days I'll put him at linebacker," said Parcells.

Tyson Walter is also getting snaps at right guard.

"I didn't think I'd ever move him from center. I just want to see if we can get a little better at right guard," he said.

Also, undrafted free agent Matt Tarullo is now practicing at center.

WARE UPDATE: Former New York Giants stars Jim Burt and Carl Banks were on hand for Monday morning's practice session and both players were reportedly complimentary of first round pick Demarcus Ware.

In fact, they repeated the comments of their former head coach in comparing Ware to sack artist Lawrence Taylor.

Parcells, not surprisingly, would have none of it. "Let's see what his heart is made of, that other guy had a pretty good heart," he added.

Meanwhile, Taylor is expected to be in Oxnard at some point during the coming weeks. "I got a message to him," Parcells said. "I don't know if it is going to be here this week, but he's coming. I've talked to him."

MENTAL ERRORS: When asked about Saturday's scrimmage, Parcells went through every area of the Cowboys' roster and listed how many mental errors were produced by each unit.

"We ran a 100 plays. I'm not going to give you the stats. We had 10 penalties, which isn't just terrible," he said.

"We only six mental errors on the offensive line and one guy had three of them. We only had one mental error by the quarterback and wide receivers."

"We had six mental errors in the secondary and seven on the defensive line. But the linebackers had a lot. That's the more complex section of the defense. We've got young players there, and this is their first time in pro football."
