Cowboys Cut Six

The Cowboys parted ways with six players on Wednesday. The team also signed another free safety - Rich Coady, who most recently played with the St. Louis Rams.

The Cowboys made several roster moves on Wednesday, including six cuts.

Reserve FS Izell Reese, PK Billy Cundiff, undrafted free agent LB Mike Goolsby, FB Darian Barnes, RT Jacob Rogers, and WR Ahmad Merritt were all released by the the club Wednesday morning.

The teams is expected to agree on injury settlements with Cundiff (hip flexor), Rogers (knee), Barnes (sprained ankle) and Merritt (torn ligaments).

The most surprising news concerns Rogers, who was a second round draft pick just last year. "It's unfortunate," Cowboys head coach Bill Parcells said. "It's just bad luck."

Rogers missed all of last season after injurying the same shoulder that limited his play at Southern Cal. He was expected to miss all of this season after suffering a knee injury that he decided needed microfracture surgery during training camp.

The Cowboys also signed free safety Rich Coady. Coady spent last season with the St. Louis Rams and is expected to compete for playing time with Lynn Scott and Keith Davis.
