Jordan took part in most of the workout Thursday but was held out of the final portion of practice when the team went to 11-on-11 drills.
Head coach Norv Turner said holding Jordan out was a precautionary move and that he expects his starting running back to be on the field Sunday when Oakland tries to snap a six-game losing streak that dates back to last season.
''We just took him out of probably the last six or eight plays at the end,'' Turner said. ''He looked pretty good in practice.''
Jordan suffered his calf strain during the Raiders' 23-20 loss to Philadelphia last Sunday.
Fullback John Paul Foschi, who with Jordan formed Oakland's starting at the beginning of the season, was limited in practice Thursday as well. His status, according to Turner, won't be determined until Sunday.
The Raiders will use Zack Crockett at fullback if Foschi is unable to play. If Foschi is able to go, Crockett will split time between fullback and tailback.
''We use a mix so I don't think it limits us,'' Turner said.
TURNER AND TUNA HAVE CASUAL RELATIONSHIP
It's no secret that Raiders owner Al Davis and Dallas coach Bill Parcells have a long-standing friendship. The two men talk frequently and generally make it a rule to sit next to one another at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis every year.
The same cannot be said of Parcells and Turner, however. Oakland's head coach said Thursday that he and Parcells aren't exactly close.
''I know Coach Parcells and speak with him, visit with him some,'' Turner said. ''I wouldn't say we're friends. I wouldn't say we're not friends. We're competitors, I guess.''
LECHLER'S KICKING KEEPS THE COACH HAPPY
Not a lot has gone right for the Raiders and Turner this season. As one of five teams without a win this year, Oakland has a lengthy list of problems that need fixing.
Punter Shane Lechler is not one of them.
The sixth-year veteran kicker is enjoying yet another solid season. His 46.0-yard average is tied for the sixth-best mark in the NFL this year while his career average of 45.9 remains tops in league history.
''He can do everything,'' Turner said. ''Down inside the 20, he can kick it out of bounds, kick it in the direction that we want. He can hang it if we want. He's as complete a kicker as I've been around.''
