The reports are coming in from everywhere it seems like these days.
Surely you've read them by now.
"Chad Hutchinson is secretly being molded into the starting quarterback position this season," notes one publication, or "Bruce Coslet has already told Hutchinson to prepare to be the starter come September 8th."
Throughout the course of this offseason, and two mini-camps, we've maintained that this is simply not true, and you know what?
It still isn't true today.
Like it or not, Quincy Carter is the starting quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, and he likely will be for a very long time.
"I didn't worry too much about being the starter last year and it worked out for me. You can't get caught up in all of that. If you work hard every day and do the things you're supposed to, that's all you can do," says Carter.
"I know the other guys - Hutchinson, Clint, Anthony - they're all right behind me. They're all hungry to play just like I am."
And while that may be true, no quarterback has taken it upon himself to do more to improve himself this offseason than Quincy Carter.
Carter has been leading the early morning workout sessions, as well as spending extensive amounts of time in meetings he's not even required to go to- all for the sake of becoming a better quarterback.
"I have to take care of myself and for me to get better, I need to work as hard as I can at all times," says Carter. "And that's why I'm here at camp so much. This is where I want to be and where I think I'm going to get better. I like to learn as much as I can."
And learning is exactly what Quincy is doing.
Learning the offense, learning how to lead America's Team, and learning the ins-and-outs of life in the NFL. What more could ask for out of a second year quarterback?
Not much in my opinion.
Carter also has the full support of the entire Cowboys' organization, from Jerry Jones to Bruce Coslet to Dave Campo, and he is firmly entrenched as this team's starting quarterback.
So go ahead and seperate yourselves from all of the uneducated fans out there. End all of that talk of a "quarterback controversy" right now because there just isn't one.
The Cowboys have a star in the making- and his name is Quincy Carter.
End the "Controversy" Now!
