Former Cowboys defensive tackle La'Roi Glover didn't take long to find a new home. Monday, the six-time Pro Bowl selection signed a three-year deal with the St. Louis Rams.
Glover was released by Dallas last Friday in effort to save approximately $6 million towards the 2006 salary cap.
The signing comes just one year after the Rams quickly picked up another Dallas defender. Last season, the Rams signed former Cowboys linebacker Dexter Coakley, just days after he was released from the team.
Glover, 31, made the Pro Bowl last season, finishing with 26 tackles and three sacks, but he played singificantly less as the season wore on. in fact, his sacks total was the lowest of his career since his rookie season.
In addition, with the Cowboys switching over to the 3-4 defense last season, Glover was simply not big enough to be an every down player.
For his career Glover has 71½ career sacks, which is second all-time among defensive tackles behind Warren Sapp's 84½.
The Rams are looking for help up front as both T Ryan Pickett and T Damione Lewis are unrestricted free agents.
