Cowboys Agree with TE

The Dallas Cowboys will welcome in this tight end from the Big East later this week.

The Dallas Cowboys have come to terms with former Pittsburgh Panthers tight end Erik Gill, TheRanchReport.com has learned.

Full Name: Erik Gill School: Pittsburgh Pos: TE

Ht: 6-4.5 Wt: 270 40: 4.85 Year: 5Sr

Bio: Two-year starter who totaled 21/244/1 as a senior after 25/433/4 the prior year.

Pos: Nice-sized tight end yet to take his game to another level. Fluid releasing off the line into pass routes, extends and offers the quarterback a nice target. Finds the open areas on the field, adjusts to the errant throw and comes away with the ball. Displays ability as a position blocker.

Neg: Has marginal playing speed and does not make receptions in the defensive secondary. Gives half-hearted efforts and rarely finishes blocks.

Analysis: A coachable yet seemingly laid-back player, Gill has the physical abilities to be a second tight end in the NFL yet will be nothing more than a camp body until he improves every area of his game.
