Tuesday QB School Notes

The Cowboys began their final QB School Tuesday afternoon, and we've got the latest. "Kevin Hardy looked good today. He's pretty close to 100% I think," said Dave Campo. News on Hardy, La'Roi Glover, Bryant Westbrook and more are contained in this report.

* Kevin Hardy is starting to show significant improvement after rumors circulated last month that he may not be ready for training camp. "Kevin Hardy looked good today. He's pretty close to 100% I think," said Dave Campo. "He looked real good in a couple of those drills."

* The heat played a major factor in the performance of the team this this afternoon. "I don't know that we executed as well as need to due to the heat, but that's more a mental thing than anything else," said Campo.

The heat evidently got to Derek Ross, who struggled with his endurance. This was Ross' first experience in the Texas heat.

* La'Roi Glover will miss this mini-camp, as he made wedding plans long before signing with the team back in March. He will be honeymooning in the Bahamas.

* And what about Bryant Westbrook, how is he looking? "I think he's fine out there right now. I think we'll find out alot during the preseason games where Bryant is," said Campo. Westbrook left mini-camp early this afternoon, but there was no serious injury of any kind.

* Look for Andre Gurode to stay at center for the time being. The big guy continues to look like a dominant offensive lineman, even as a rookie.

* Once again Dave Campo reinterated that Quincy Carter is the starting quarterback. "Quincy's our starting quarterback. Hutchinson has got some talent, but Quincy's the starting quarterback, but we'll give Hutchinson as much as we can so we can see what he's got by the end of training camp," said Campo.

* The anticipation of the battle between Peppi Zellner and Ebenezer Ekuban at defensive end is already building. "Its going to be a fierce battle between those two. Peppi has made some tremendous strides since last year, I believe that if Ebenezer is healthy he has a real big upside. That's going to be a battle right there," said Campo.

* Campo had the following to say about having training camp in San Antonio, "We are excited about going to San Antonio. There is a tremendous fan base there and that helps. Athletes peform better when people are in the stands. I think the idea of being out in the heat a little bit and being in the Dome will be beneficial for this team."
