In a move that has been expected for the last few days, the Dallas Cowboys officially signed kicker Martin Gramatica to a two-year deal Monday afternoon.
Financial terms have not yet been released.
Gramatica connected on 6-of-8 field goals last season after taking over for veteran Mike Vanderjagt.
The Cowboys signed Vanderjagt last offseason in hopes he could continue to be the most accurate kicker in NFL history. Unfortunately, he struggled mightily; connecting on just 13-of-18 field goals in 10 games, including two misses under 40 yards.
Meanwhile Gramatica was more consistent and also drilled a game-winning 46-yard field goal attempt as time expired to beat the New York Giants 23-20 on Dec. 3.
"For a guy who hadn't been kicking with regularity, it was a difficult thing to do." Giants coach Tom Coughlin said at the time.
The Cowboys have now re-signed two of their key free agents this offseason in Gramatica and Pro Bowl center Andre Gurode.
The Cowboys are also hoping to sign right tackle Marc Colombo.
