Seventh Round: 'Boys Select CB

The Dallas Cowboys drafted a cornerback in the seventh round of the 2007 NFL Draft.

SCOUT.COM DRAFT RANKING: No. 44 (Cornerback)

COURTNEY BROWN QUOTE: "I thought I would be drafted. At least I hoped I would be. My Pro Day, I ran a 4.35 in the forty and posted a 40.5 inch vertical. I think that helped me out with a lot of teams that were looking me. But right now the bottom line is I'm excited to be a Dallas Cowboy. I'm just glad to get this whole process over with and start playing football."

BIO: Former receiver who started in the defensive backfield the past three years. All-Conference selection as a senior after posting 51/1/7. Junior totals were 44/7/12. Did not give up a touchdown in his last two years of college.

POSITIVE: Nice-sized, instinctive cornerback with solid ball skills. Fluid transitioning to run with opponents, quickly reads the action and has a nice break to the ball. Displays good hands for the interception and has been a game changer in the past.

NEGATIVE: Marginal playing speed and gets beaten deep. Better facing the action and struggles with his back to the ball.

FINAL ANALYSIS: Offering solid size, Brown could fit in as a dime back for a zone defense.
