Haley to Interview with Dolphins

Amid many assumptions that Cowboys assistant Tony Sparano will be the choice as the Dolphins' new head coach, TheRanchReport.com continues to hear buzz that Bill Parcells' search will be slightly more extensive than that – extensive enough, anyway, to be bringing Todd Haley to South Florida for an interview.

Sources tell TheRanchReport.com that Haley, who worked as a Parcells assistant in Dallas before being the Cardinals' offensive coordinator last season, is flying to Florida tonight for a Wednesday interview with the Dolphins. Haley told us late last week that he would be interested in such a move.

Miami has interviewed Sparano, and is in the process of meeting with Minnesota defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier and former Ravens defensive coordinator Rex Ryan.

Parcells has already plucked away a couple of Cowboys names. His GM will be Jeff Ireland. His QB coach will be David Lee, who left the Cowboys last season for a job with Arkansas. Miami is also working to pry scouting aide Brian Gaine from Valley Ranch.

Haley's candidacy could conceivably be good news for the Cowboys. It suggests that there is less of a guarantee of Sparano leaving. It also adds another name to the coaching carousel that has included prominently valued Dallas assistant Jason Garrett.
