2007 (JUNIOR): Caught 49 passes for 587 yards and four touchdowns last season for the Aggies. Bennett finished the 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine in 4.68 seconds, ranking seventh out of the eight tight ends in his group. He ranked third in the vertical jump (34 inches) and fifth in the broad jump (9–9).[18] Along with 30 other prospects,[19] he was invited to the Dallas Cowboys' Valley Ranch headquarters for a pre-draft visit on April 17–18, 2008

2006 (SOPHOMORE): Named a semifinalist for the John Mackey Award, which is annually given to the nation's top tight end, after tying for the team lead in catches and receiving touchdowns … posted 38 catches for 497 yards (13.1 average) and three touchdowns … named to the All-Big 12 first team by the Dallas Morning News … named the Mackey Award Player of the Week after posting a career-high 133 yards and two touchdowns (on five catches) against Baylor … had a spectacular 75-yard catch and run for a touchdown against the Bears … matched his career high of six catches against Oklahoma State and Nebraska.

2005 (FRESHMAN): Earned Freshman All-America honors from SportingNews.com after grabbing 18 catches for 162 yards and three touchdowns … honorable mention All-Big 12 pick by the conference head coaches … came on strong down the stretch with catches in five of the final six games, including a season-best four catches for 39 yards vs. Colorado … started five games and saw action in all 11 games.
