'Boys to Sign Another WR

The Dallas Cowboys have agreed with another undrafted free agent wide receiver, which makes three new wide outs expected to participate in this weekend's rookie mini-camp.

The Dallas Cowboys have agreed with another undrafted free agent wide receiver, UTEP's Joe West (6-2,210), TheRanchReport.com has learned.

West recorded 93 catches for 1,540 yards and 13 touchdowns during his college career with the Miners.

He started all 12 games in 2007, when he was second on the team in receiving yards (734) and receiving touchdowns (six) and third in catches (41).

"Most of my success at UTEP came from digging deep," West told TheRanchReport.com's Ed Thompson in a recent interview. "I didn't get too many opportunities as a wide receiver, so I had to take advantage of a lot of the opportunities I got. Whenever I made a catch I tried to get as much out of it as I can."

The wide receiver position has been an area of concern for the Cowboys this offseason with aging stars Terry Glenn and Terrell Owens entering their mid-30's.

The Cowboys have now agreed to terms with three undrafted free agent wide outs this week, including West, Texas Tech's Danny Amendola and Stanford's Mark Bradford.

Dallas also signed undrafted free agent quarterback Daniel Polk, out of Midwestern State. Polk is expected to play as a wide out in the NFL.

Chances are at least one will have the opportunity to make the Cowboys' 53-man roster later this year.

West was ranked No. 123 on the TheRanchReport.com's draft board.

QUICK SCOUTING REPORT: Has good size and receiving skills, but was not sudden in his movement and appeared somewhat tight in his hips. Has outstanding size. Tracks the ball extremely well. I particularly liked the way he adjusted to the deep ball. Good hands (can snatch the football away from his body) and showed field awareness. Did a good job adjusting to balls in the under zones. Lacks speed and or at burst. Not a true vertical threat. Solid free agent pick up.
