'Boys Show Interest in OLB/DE

At least one defensive player has already caught the eye of scouts from the Dallas Cowboys this week at the Senior Bowl.

Sources tell TheRanchReport.com the Dallas Cowboys are one of a handful of teams showing strong interest in 6-foot-2, 242 pound outside linebacker/defensive end Cody Brown, from Connecticut.

Brown, who will likely end up at outside linebacker at the next level, has already spoken with the Patriots, Dolphins, Cowboys, Saints and Packers this week in Mobile, Ala.

Brown is currently ranked as the No. 11 outside linebacker in the draft according to Scout.com.

He finished the 2008 season with 58 tackles including 33 solo stops and 10 sacks and was named as a first-team All Big East performer as a result.

The Cowboys already boast one of the top outside linebackers in the NFL in DeMarcus Ware, who was runner-up for the league's defensive player of the year honors after leading the NFL in sacks.

Meanwhile LB Greg Ellis had a drop-off from his Pro Bowl campaign of 2007, and backup Spencer remains a work in progress, which could prompt Dallas to look for additional help at the outside linebacker position in the upcoming draft.
