Former Virginia TE John Phillips is now a Dallas Cowboy and he's looking forward to working with a Pro Bowler like Jason Witten and Martellus Bennett.
"They've got some great tight ends there, and I'm hoping to go in there and fill any role that they want me to fill--special teams, fullback--I'll do anything and will learn multiple positions to get in there and get things going," he said during a phone call this evening.
I then jokingly asked him if he was conceding the starter's role to Jason Witten.
"Oh, no," he said with a hearty laugh. "I know he's a Pro Bowl tight end, but I'm going to compete every day and I'm going to do the best that I can do, and we'll see where we fall."
