Parcells Keeps DE Coach

Bill Parcells made several more moves Tuesday afternoon, but the most notable one was the annoucement that defensive ends coach Jim Jeffcoat will return to the Cowboys next season. The Cowboys also announced the signing of two players.

Jeffcoat joins offensive coordinator Maurice Carthon and defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer on new coach Bill Parcells' staff. Jeffcoat has coached the Cowboys defensive ends for the last two seasons after coaching defensive line in 1998-99.

It was previously thought that only defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer would remain on the staff through the course of next season, however that's obviously not the case with the announcement of Jeffcoat staying on board.

Jeffcoat has either played or coached with every coach in Cowboys history. The former defensive end spent 12 years as a player in Dallas, earning two Super Bowl rings and registering over 100 sacks in his career.

Also on Tuesday, it was learned that the Cowboys signed free agent defensive tackle Willie Blade and offensive tackle Dave Volk.
