Ismail missed the entire 2002 season when he suffered a neck injury during training camp in the Alamodome.
"I'm not thinking about retiring," Ismail said after suffering the injury. "Five years ago, I thought I would be quitting about right now. I'm not ready."
Ismail also said that he wanted to stay in Dallas but that he will try and play elsewhere. Ismail was signed through 2005 and was willing to accept a pay cut but now that appears as though that wasn't a serious consideration.
The former All-American from Notre Dame, had a productive season two years ago, bringing in 53 receptions for over 800 yards and 2 touchdowns.
