5 questions with Tony Romo

Tony Romo talks about a variety of topics after Thursday night's loss to Oakland.

What were your overall thoughts on the loss tonight?
Romo: "We did some good things; some things we have to work on and get better at. There are a couple of things we have to do a little bit better. It's tough we; didn't have two tight ends so we were minimized with what we could do tonight a little bit, but some things were good."

What about being blitzed and being sacked so many times in the first drive?
Romo: "I think the one time we ran into each other out on the routes and that wasn't the offensive line's fault I think that time I held the ball too long, so I have to get the ball out. That's just part of me getting better, and we'll get better. You have to look at this and you have to get better."

What about the three possessions without scoring a touchdown?
Romo: "Absolutely we're out here to score put points on the board and get touchdowns. The execution has to be, there's a fine line you don't want to show the stuff that we've been doing, but at some point we have to get it in and get better. We go back this week and get to Oxnard and we're going to work our butts off to get better."

How much difference does it make when you actually do game plan?
Romo: "It's tremendous, a big part of game planning is the red zone as well and that's where you make a lot of your hay. Were running the same plays we're running on the first or second from the 40 yard line we are at the 10 or 20, but that's to our benefit as we go into the season. Congratulations if you score a touchdown now and you guys write about it for a week and then that play doesn't work in Washington because we used it. There's also the sense that says we need to just get in there and go, to find a way, and we will."

Are you looking forward to a change of scenery by heading out west to Oxnard?
Romo: "I think the weather will be a little bit more conducive, but we have a lot of work to do. This team is not where we need to be yet. We've made some strides, we've done some good things, but we have a lot of work and time left to continue to get better. That's actually exciting from my perspective because we have some things we need to work Oxnard and we will have some time to do it out there."
