Mike Wallace only absent player as Miami Dolphins report for first day of offseason workouts
by Andrew Abramson
The Dolphins are back in Davie today.
Voluntary offseason workouts have begun and players trickled into the training facility this morning.
The Palm Beach Post has learned that receiver Mike Wallace was the only player not there today, however it is believed he will show up tomorrow. Team officials knew Wallace wouldn’t be in Davie today because of a previously scheduled engagement and he is supposed to arrive in town tonight.
Last season defensive tackle Randy Starks skipped early workouts to protest receiving the team’s franchise tag. No player was given the tag this year.
The Post reported Friday that injured receivers Brian Hartline (PCL tear) and Brandon Gibson (torn patella tendon) are expected to be ready to go full strength by mini-camp.
The Dolphins posted photos of players arriving at the facility. This year’s theme is “stronger” — a fitting buzz word after a locker room scandal engulfed the team last season and Miami collapsed in the final two games.
