Allen's Contract Restructured

Veteran cornerback Will Allen will be back with the Dolphins in 2011 after he and the team restructured his contract.

Allen's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, broke the news Thursday morning while appearing as a guest on radio station WQAM.

Rosenhaus said Allen underwent a physical on Monday and then had a brief workout to confirm the condition of his surgically repaired knee.

Allen was due to make $5.5 million in base salary in 2011, and Rosenhaus confirmed his client agreed to a reduction.

The veteran missed all of the 2010 season after being placed on injured reserve in the final cuts. The move came as a surprise because Allen, who was attempting to come back from a 2009 injury, declared himself ready to go a few weeks into the regular season.
