Tough Time for Miami Draft Picks

Rookie Frank Kearse was the only 2011 draft pick who has been released by the Dolphins, while 2010 fourth-round choice A.J. Edds also was let go. But it's been bad news throughout the league for several other recent Dolphins draft picks.

Here's the rundown:

-- Tackle Andrew Gardner, sixth-round pick in 2009, released by Houston (after first being released by Cincinnati)

-- Wide receiver Patrick Turner, third-round pick in 2009, released by the New York Jets (subsequently signed to the Jets practice squad)

-- Defensive lineman Lionel Dotson, seventh-round pick in 2008, waived by Buffalo

-- Guard Donald Thomas, sixth-round pick in 2008, waived by Detroit

-- Running back Jalen Parmale, sixth-round pick in 2008, released by Baltimore

-- Fullback Reagan Mauia, sixth-round pick in 2007, released by Arizona

-- Tight end Donald Lee, fifth-round pick in 2003, released by Philadelphia

Then there were other former Dolphins draft picks who didn't even make it to the final cuts, such as G Shawn Murphy (Denver), TE John Nalbone (Cincinnati) and G/T Joe Toledo (Philadelphia).

Finally, we've also got to mention the immortal Pat White, the forgettable second-round pick of 2009. He was released by the Virginia franchise of the UFL.
