More Roster Moves

The Dolphins got some help for their injury-riddled defense on Tuesday, signing a couple of eight-year veterans — defensive lineman Igor Olshansky and cornerback Nathan Jones.

To make room on the roster, the Dolphins terminated the contracts of running back Larry Johnson and tight end Dante Rosario.

It's the second time Johnson has been released — he was among the final cuts to 53 before being brought shortly before the opener. As for Rosario, he was signed a couple of days after the final roster cuts.

This will be a second tour of duty in Miami for Jones, who played for the Dolphins in 2008 and 2009. Jones, who played for Denver last season, originally signed with Miami as a free agent after beginning his career with the Dallas Cowboys.

Olshansky also played for Dallas, but he began his career with the San Diego Chargers before signing with the Cowboys as a free agent in 2009.

The defense played last Sunday's game against Houston without defensive end Tony McDaniel (hand), and both linebacker Karlos Dansby (groin) and cornerback Vontae Davis (hamstring) left the game with injuries.
