The Daily Take will be posted every weekday at 3 p.m. and will offer our opinion on a pertinent topic involving the Dolphins. Today we discuss Jason Taylor and Zach Thomas' trip to Germany.

Jason Taylor and Zach Thomas have returned from Germany, where they spent two days last week visiting with U.S. soldiers.

Taylor called it a life-changing experience, while Thomas said it was a emotional visit with soldiers, some of whom were in hospitals.

The two Dolphins were the only players chosen for this trip, and it just provided one more example of a) their popularity and b) their sense of community.

The Dolphins not only have two great players in Jason Taylor and Zach Thomas, they have two great role models, two great ambassadors.

They are the type of guys you want spending their entire career with one team, something that just might happen.

They also happen to be the two cornerstones of the Dolphins defense, with all apologies to Patrick Surtain, Tim Bowens and Sam Madison.

Taylor was so moved by the trip that he said he would stop using war analogies when talking about football.

The trip, it seems, was a rousing success in all aspects.
