The Daily Take will be posted on weekdays and will offer our opinion on a pertinent topic involving the Dolphins. Today we discuss the early impression made by new safety Sammy Knight.

It hasn't taken veteran safety Sammy Knight very long to show the Dolphins why he has been successful in the NFL despite being considered too slow.

Coach Dave Wannstedt walked in Monday afternoon to find one player studying film on the eve of the team's quarterback school. That player? You guessed it, Sammy Knight.

Then Knight came up with an interception during drills, showing the knack for the football that helped him get to the Pro Bowl a few years back.

Make no mistake, Knight really will help the Dolphins defense in 2003. His acquisition, in fact, might become just as important as that of Junior Seau, if not more.
