Dolphins sign Quinten Lawrence

The Miami Dolphins have signed former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Quinten Lawrence. And the Dolphins are listing Lawrence as a defensive back. Lawrence, 27, entered the NFL as a wide receiver, apearing in six games as a rookie with one start. He caught one pass for nine yards and gained 42 yards on two carries, returning 16 kickoffs for 317 yards.

He spent 14 weeks on the practice squad two years ago before being activated for the final two games of the season and an AFC wild-card playoff game.

An All-Southland performer at McNeese State, Lawrence appeared in 37 games for the Cowboys and hauled in 99 receptions for 1,905 yards and 15 touchdowns during his collegiate career.
