Jefferie Gibson was one of the prospects at NC State for Tom Lemmings' photo shoot over the weekend and he took advantage of the opportunity.
The Gray's Creek athlete had been to NC State before but the Wolfpack are one of his options that he's most serious about. As he's still trying to get to know the new coaching staff Gibson thought it would be a good time to head over and check out the Pack once again.
Gibson was treated to a tour of the facilities, which he had seen before.
"I talked to coach White and actually just about all of the coaches. Coach White was just talking about how it would be good if I came there. They're recruiting me as a receiver and they think it would be a good place for me," he said.
The Pack plans on spreading the ball around and keeping receivers involved. That was a prime selling point this weekend when the coaches were talking to him.
"They're mostly going to a spread with three, four receivers every play," he said. "I'm looking for a spread so that would be good for me."
Gibson said he has talked to Doeren "a lot" and called him a "down to earth guy" that knows how to be serious but can also have fun.
Gibson also said NC State and Clemson are the two schools that are standing out. Clemson has told Gibson he could play on either side of the ball, at receiver or safety. Position coaches for the Tigers would be comfortable with him on offense or defense.
"I like Clemson because of their facilities and the coaches and the way it is there," he said.
The 6-4, 190-pound receiver will visit Florida State this weekend. "It will be nice to go but I don't know too much until I get down there," he said.
