The Dolphins have until Tuesday at 4 p.m. to reduce their roster to 68 players, but got an early jump on the process by waiving 11 players the day after the Green Bay game.<P>

First off, let us explain that the Dolphins only have to get down to 68, as opposed to the league maximum of 65, because they have three exemptions for players who participated in NFL Europe this spring.

None of the 11 players released came as much of a surprise. The list includes wide receivers David Foye and Daniel Guy; center Jason Andersen; tackle Michael Lies; fullback Matt Kalapinski; defensive ends Rameel Connor and Devon Finn; defensive tackle Buck Gurley; linebacker Aaron Gatten; cornerback Zebbie Lethridge; and safety Nick Sorensen.

The Dolphins have three more moves to make before Tuesday's deadline, and one of them is expected to involve an injury settlement with rookie quarterback Josh Heupel.

The final roster cut to 53 has to be made by next Sunday at 4 p.m.
