Guard Mark Dixon disputed a published report that suggested he was a question mark for the Sept. 9 season opener because of continuing back problems.
Dixon said Wednesday his back felt fine and he was ready to go 16 games.

"I was kind of surprised when I read some of the stuff that was written," Dixon said. "That's not the case at all. I'm not up in the air for the opener. I'm fine; I'm ready to go."

Dixon may skip Friday night's preseason finale against the Minnesota Vikings, but that's only because he had an epidural on Monday.

The guard said he got the shot as a preventive measure, and said it had been planned all along.

Dixon said his back felt just fine when the Dolphins played at Green Bay last Saturday night.

"I feel great," he said. "There's no question in my mind I'll be there for the whole 16 weeks. I feel better than I've felt in a long time. I'm happy where I am physically."
