Two days after getting down the 53-player roster limit, the Dolphins made another move.
Running back Autry Denson was waived on Tuesday amid speculation the Dolphins would re-sign safety Daryl Porter, who was among Sunday's cuts.

Porter wasn't claimed off waivers by any other team and is free to sign with anyone. Although the South Florida native would prefer to re-sign with the Dolphins, he reportedly has drawn the interest of a few teams, among them Chicago and Jacksonville.

As for Denson, his release would suggest the Dolphins are confident J.J. Johnson has fully recovered from the knee injured he sustained in the preseason opener against the St. Louis Rams.

Keeping four tailbacks on the active roster is a bit of luxury, but the Dolphins wouldn't have let Denson go — and left rookie Travis Minor as the only backup to Lamar Smith — had they had concerns about Johnson being ready to play Sunday night at Tennessee.

The Dolphins made four other roster moves on Tuesday, waiving guard Dan Palmer and cornerback Jeff Harris off the injured reserve list, and signing wide receiver Ronney Daniels and guard Andy Vincent to the practice squad.

Daniels and Vincent complete the five-man practice squad, which also includes wide receivers Robert Baker and Corey Bridges, as well as offensive tackle Brandon Winey.
