Dolphins' Sturgis Injured at OTAs

Caleb Sturgis is out for the remainder of the Dolphins’ organized team activities. The kicker injured his plant leg and sat out today.

The Miami Dolphins will be without their starting kicker Caleb Sturgis for the remainder of OTAs. Sturgis injured his quad on his plant leg during workouts and was unable to practice today. The duration of his injury is unknown at this time, but it looks like Sturgis will miss the remainder of OTAs.

Sturgis has struggled down the stretch during both of his two seasons in the NFL. His absence will likely lead to competition at the position in the weeks to come.

The Dolphins currently have one other kicker on their roster for OTAs, and that is Andrew Franks. Franks is an undrafted free agent out of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. The Dolphins signed Franks right before OTAs.
