It didn’t take the Miami Dolphins long to fill the spot left by the release of Jake Knott. According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, the team announced today that they have signed wide receiver Tommy Streeter.
Streeter is not unfamiliar with South Beach. The speedy receiver played college football for the University of Miami, and was signed by the Dolphins last fall to their practice squad. Shortly after he was signed, Streeter was released to make room for returner Marcus Thigpen.
Despite making waves at the combine, where the 6-foot-5, 220 pound receiver ran a 4.34 40-yard dash, Streeter has yet to record his first NFL catch. The Dolphins are already loaded at the wide receiver position . However, Streeter will likely be an asset on the Dolphins’ practice squad or make appearances on special teams.
