Jamil Douglas and Jeff Linkenbach have put some competitive pressure on guards Dallas Thomas and Billy Turner. After being rotated in and out up to this point of training camp, its way to early to say who will be starting at the beginning of the season, but it looks as though Douglas is the favorite at one of the spots.
Kicker Caleb Sturgis has not looked good so far, and has been struggling to find the uprights. In the shadows, Andrew Franks, who was an undrafted free agent, has a big leg and was consistent on Friday.
Wide receiver Michael Preston and Quarterback Ryan Tannehill have made a quick connection after completing multiple deep balls throughout the weekend. Jarvis Landry, who led the team in receptions last year, is having an amazing camp. From making incredible one handed grabs, to hardly dropping a ball when thrown his way,he is poised to move past the dreaded "sophomore slump."
At the start of training camp, the Miami Dolphins have five running backs listed on the roster. With a mixture of veterans which include Lamar Miller, LaMichael James, Damien Williams, and Mike Gillislee plus the addition of rookie Jay Ajayi. This is an awesome position for the Dolphins and Coach Philbin to be in.
This is just the start to what is shaping to be a very competitive and exciting start to training camp. With the talent emerging and actually having intense competition at key positions, only time will tell what this season will bring.
