As if the Miami Dolphins didn't have a enough on their plate with the firing of Joe Philbin following their loss to the New York Jets a week ago, wide receiver Jarvis Landry has been fined $23,152 by the NFL for cursing at a referee late in the fourth quarter.
Is this a blatant overfine to a player on a team that has been ridiculed as of late by the NFL?
In my opinion, absolutely. Let's put it into persepctive. Landry's former LSU teammate Odell Beckham Jr. was also fined this week $8,681 for punching a Buffalo player on Sunday. That's right, he actually assaulted a player instead of verbally assaulting a referee. Doesn't seem fair does it?
Here are the rest of the fines for Week 4 in the NFL.
Jerry Hughes was fined $8,681 for unncecessary roughness against the Giants.
Matthew Stafford was fined $5,787 for wearing blue shoes.
Vikings cornerback Xavier Rhodes was fined $17,363 for a horse collar against the Broncos.
