Dolphins Jarvis Landry Outburst A Good Thing?

Player outbursts on the sideline are commonplace these days in the NFL, ask Cowboys WR Dez Bryant, he is an expert in this matter.

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jarvis Landry had an outburst in the Dolphins win over the Baltimore Ravens this past Sunday.

Some twitter feeds are reporting that Landry was upset with the offensive calls…. no kidding: who would not be upset.  The offense only had 82 passing yards for the entire game.  That is terrible based upon the extremely talented receiver core that the Dolphins have.

Landry has not been putting up the yards or touchdowns in the past couple of games.  Teams are double teaming and putting pressure on Ryan Tannehill to pass elsewhere and making it harder to get the ball to the Dolphins leading receiver.  This should not be a surprise to anyone.  This is what happens when you are a number one receiver in the league.  The dolphins should be having another receiver emerge to give the Dolphins the depth of having a duel threat at the WR position.  Rookie wide out DeVante Parker after the last game may be that player.

The problem which has occurred for years now is that, Miami has never had more than one deep threat option that has been consistent in that role.  That looks to change with Parker now in the mix.  Maybe I am stretching it a bit, but DeVante Parker looks like a Dez Bryant.  He is a big target on the field and has the hands and ability to make huge plays down the field like Bryant can.

Do I see this outburst as a problem? In no way is this a problem.  Jarvis Landry is a leader on the field and off the field for the Miami Dolphins and it was great to see his emotion come out.  It shows players that he is not giving up for one second and wants to win and sees that there is a problem and wants to solve that problem by being the answer.

Miami HAS to think Landry first option, Parker second option and the passing game will be just fine.  Now more than ever with teams doubling up on “Juice” having Parker be more involved in the passing game will open things up for Landry to get back to his spectacular plays and getting this talented player in the end zone where we need him to be.

Next up for the Miami Dolphins is a primetime matched with the New York Giants on Monday Night Football.  I see the Dolphins exploding for the nationally covered game and showing everyone that the Miami Dolphins ARE a talented team and can compete with any team.
