As the world focused on the tragic events that shook the United States on Tuesday, Dolphins president Eddie Jones released a statement on behalf of the team.<P>
"During this time of tragedy, our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this terrible event," the statement read. "We are in contact with the NFL regarding the decision-making process surrounding this weekend's games, and until we have a definitive word from the league, as difficult as it may be, our staff is preparing to play this Sunday."
Major League Baseball canceled all the games scheduled for Tuesday, and there was a distinct possibility NFL games this weekend could be postponed as well.
The last time the Dolphins had a game postponed was in 1992, when their opener against New England was pushed back in the aftermath of Hurricane Andrew. The game was rescheduled for an October date when both the Dolphins and Patriots were scheduled for a bye.
