Dolphins Report Mock Draft Round 2

The Dolphins Report staff members reveal their selections for the Miami Dolphins second round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.

Eric Roddy, Publisher: Kendall Fuller, CB Virginia Tech Hokies

Kendall Fuller is the next of the great defensive backs to come out of Virginia Tech, joining an impressive list of notable alumns in the NFL that include Brandon Flowers, DeAngelo Hall, Kam Chancellor, and Kyle Fuller. Fuller has ideal size for the position, listed at 6 foot, 197 pounds. He has fantastic ball skills, evident in his 8 interceptions over his three years at Tech. The Miami Dolphins desperately need a cornerback to come in and compete Day 1, and Fuller would do just that. He should be available when the Dolphins pick in the second round, too.

Richard Adams, Head Staff Writer: Jalen Mills, DB, LSU Tigers

I think he would be a great starter opposite Brent Grimes. Mills is 6’2” and has played cornerback and safety.

Blanton Stagno, Staff Writer: Landon Turner, OG, North Carolina Tar Heels

Ryan Tannehill was sacked over 60 times this past season. That is unacceptable. Landon Turner would be a good draft pick so that Tannehill can develop.

Sean Heffron, Around-the-NFL Expert: Philip "Scooby" Wright LB Arizona Wildcats

When a current AFC East area scout says, "I hope he falls to us because I will do everything in my power to get him drafted," you know the player must be the real deal. Wright compares to Zach Thomas in that he is in on every play and has a fantastic motor. They are the exact same guy, thats something to get excited about if the former Arizona Wildcat falls to the Dolphins second round pick. Wright has won about every single award a college linebacker can win including a unanimous being named an All-American and Pac 12 Defensive Player of the Year. Scooby posses elite football instincts, similar to Luke Kuechly, and seems to always be around the football. He makes up for his lack of overly impressive strength and athletic measurables with his fierce competitiveness and football IQ.
