The Dolphins hadn't made any announcements as of Tuesday afternoon, but you can forget about wide receiver Robert Baker making the team.

His locker at Dolphins headquarters was cleared out on Tuesday and his name tag had been removed. That tells you he's gone.

When asked about Baker, Coach Dave Wannstedt said, "We're trying to make some decisions on Robert Baker right now."

What that means is the Dolphins are trying to see if another team would want to make a trade for Baker, who is coming off an impressive season in NFL Europe but has little chance of beating out either Sam Simmons or rookie J.R. Tolver for the final spots at wide receiver.

If the Dolphins do manage to make a trade involving Baker, it probably wouldn't be for anything more than a conditional low-round draft pick. It's more likely, however, that Baker simply will wind up getting released.
