AFC East: Where Do The Miami Dolphins Stand?

The 2016 NFL Draft has long passed and since I already did a piece on my choice for rookie of the year for the Miami Dolphins, Laremy Tunsil. I thought I would also do a piece on the other teams in the AFC East and their gains and not so gains.

Starting with the Buffalo Bills, based in Orchard Park, New York: next to the Dolphins this year the Bills scored big with former Ohio State standout Cardale Jones focusing on defense and adding the talented, but raw quarterback to the mix. The downside to the draft is their head coach Rex Ryan. He has only been in the chair for one season and there are already talks of a firing, as they pull through because of players such as Tyrod Taylor and Sammy Watkins.

Next, the Miami Dolphins based in Miami Gardens, Florida: as we all know the best thing to happen to the team this draft season is Laremy Tunsil who fell into the Dolphins lap after a social media scandal, he is an unbelievably well-rounded player who is physically at his prime. The other end we have Leonte Carroo, I believe Carroo is a great playmaker as he is a talented receiver but we also gave up multiple 2017 mid-round picks to get him so I hope it is worth it.

After the Dolphins we have the New England Patriots based in Foxborough, Massachusetts: if Joe Thuney is known for anything it is his versatility and toughness and therefore a solid choice for the offensive, he is a typical pic for the Patriots. However, because they also chose Jacoby Brissett I have to say that the Patriots this draft had the biggest loss he's a long-term commitment at value and may not even have a future in New England especially because they already picked Tom Brady’s heir in Jimmy Garoppolo.

And for last we have the New York Jets based in East Rutherford, New Jersey: easily the Jets got great talent with the ever creative Darron Lee in the first round as it is very likely that he could be one of the best linebackers in the league in no time at all.

An odd choice is Chris Hackenberg as he is an “okay” player but his technique faltered once Bill O'Brien left Penn State for the Houston Texans and along with this he will not be able to help the Jets this year, he is dead weight to me for the QB situation.

All in all, this draft season I say the Buffalo Bills had well-rounded decisions, the Miami Dolphins had few spectacular choices one blowing it out of the water, the New England Patriots dropped the ball on this one, and the New York Jets made some choices that were okay and others that were questionable.
