Placing Arian Foster on the physically unable to perform list is a precautionary move to make sure that the Achilles tear that ended his 2015 season is totally repaired and that he will be able to take to the field on opening day.
With the Miami Dolphins being comfortable in signing Foster and putting him on the PUP list before training camp tells us that there was still some rehab that has to be done on his injury. In saying that, he must be nearly 100% for the Dolphins to sign the aging running back.
I feel that Miami will not look to rush Foster back until he is 100% for week one of the 2016 season. He will be competing for the lead role of running back with 2015 fourth-round pick Jay Ajayi.
Also in news today, the NFL has reinstated defensive end Dion Jordan from suspension on a conditional basis. Jordan was serving a suspension due to a third substance abuse violation. This means that he is eligible to take part in all training camp and preseason work.
As part of the conditions, Jordan will have to meet with the NFL prior to week one to review his process.
Here is to the start of Miami Dolphins training camp and to a new start for the Miami Dolphins…New coaching staff, new players, and new team.
