Dolphins WR Devante Parker Could Return Today

Miami’s 2015 1st round pick suffered a hamstring injury last week, but he may be practicing before Friday’s preseason game.

Miami Dolphins 2015 1st round pick DeVante Parker is set to return. The sophomore tweaked a hamstring early last week and has been held out of practice ever since. He has been seen doing individual drills on the side. The injury is thought to be a cause of dehydration.

Today, Parker said he could return as soon as tomorrow. Besides Jarvis Landry, Parker is the only other receiver that seems to have chemistry with Ryan Tannehill. Parker’s absence has caused Tannehill to have Juice-vision in scrimmage, besides dumping off to the occasional running back or Tight-end.

It was disappointing to see Parker miss time early in camp, but the positive spin is the injury is not serious and he has plenty of time to regain his impact in this offense.

Last year, Parker missed most of training camp due to an operation to replace a surgically implanted screw in his foot. But the team felt his impact during the last 6 weeks of the season as he was a key factor in wins against the Ravens and Patriots.

The wide receiver brings big play ability, and his height and vertical leap makes him a red-zone threat for the offense. With the offensive passing attack struggling early in camp, the Dolphins would like to have him back before the first preseason game against the New York Giants on Friday.
