Rookie linebacker Eddie Moore spoke Monday afternoon about the possibility of coming back this season, but Coach Dave Wannstedt said later that simply wasn't going to happen.

"I don't see any way," Wannstedt said after Monday's practice.

Moore underwent surgery for a Lis Franc injury to his left foot sustained in the preseason opener against Tampa Bay, and will be in a protective booth for another month.

The Dolphins have yet to put Moore on injured reserve, but Wannstedt said that had more to do with wanting until the last possible second to make a move.

One way or another, it's a frustrating period for Moore.

"I can't tell exactly what happened," said Moore, who was injured while covering a kickoff. "It's pretty frustrating. I came out for my first game and was really excited, but I never got the chance to even take a snap on defense."

In other Dolphins news:

-- Rookie linebacker Corey Jenkins (hamstring) missed practice on Monday, and his status for Friday night's preseason game against Atlanta is up in the air.

-- Offensive tackle Jarvis Borum, a long shot to make the team, will undergo an MRI to determine the severity of a triceps injury.

-- DE Jason Taylor handed his teammates goodie bags from Neutrogena, the company for which Taylor has become a national spokesman. Taylor has appeared in a television commercial, where he is seen taking a shower.

Joked Taylor: "I've got to rectify some of the ugliness in this locker room."
