Dolphins Cowboys: 5 Bold Predictions

Derrick Henry reveals 5 bold predictions for the Miami Dolphins 2nd pre-season game against the Dallas Cowboys.

My top five predictions for this Friday's game between the Miami Dolphins and Dallas Cowboys. Some have a better chance of happening than others , in a parallel universe, or maybe not. Obviously some of these are for fun because, hey, it is pre-season after all...

- One of this game's punts will land on ESPN's top 10 for ending in one of Jerry Jones' eyes on the megascreen;

- Offensive player Chaz Green for the Cowboys got exposed between penalties and performance vs. the Rams. He was moved from guard to offensive tackle. Regardless of what edge he covers, especially Prescott's blind side if this experiment is continuing, he is, perhaps, the only piece of kryptonite vs. what has been billed, arguably, "one of the best o-lines" going into this season. This should inspire Ndamukong Suh, Cameron Wake and Mario Williams, among others, to start this game, as a gage of performance, albeit preseason. No one likes to lose 1st-string talent in preseason. We play the Cowboys' o-line to a draw;

-"Battle of the Backups": Our Matt Moore vs., most likely, Cowboys' Dak Prescott. Both availed themselves very well last week in their preseason debuts regarding their confidence and performance. Prescott displayed minor abilities to run or scramble with 14 rushing yards last week. I could be wrong here, but very few plays I know are "designed scrambles."  Will Prescott continue worthy of his billing? I am giving the slightest edge to us.

- In a bare-knuckles, no-frills comparison, our 5th-ranked, week 1 preseason defense vs. 'Dem Boys, ranked 26th or 27th after same last week. Dallas allowed more than a glimmer of hope, allowing the Rams to score 21 unanswered points in a shutout 2nd half, regardless of what depth players were involved. Our defensive ranking will improve 1-2 places upwards;

- Offensively, this game will be outside the trenches. Dallas ran only 1 more yard & passed aprx. 30 yards better than we did last week. Our stats were vs. the Giants, while the Cowboys lost to the Rams. As of this writing @ 2amon 8/18 on ESPN radio, it was announced Tony Romo would play a series or two. However, Dallas RB draft pick Ezekiel Elliott would not play with hamstring issues. Former Houston Texans RB Arian Foster plays a series or three just to shake some rust, and just because Dallas is his former cross-state rival. It's just a matter of which backup QB utilizes their multi-string weaponry better.
