The Dolphins come off a win against the Falcons last week where the defense got back on track holding the Atlanta Falcons to just 6 points, as the Dolphins offense scored 17, bringing their preseason record to 2-1.
This week the Dolphins will look to do the same to a young Titans offense who scored 27 points last week against the Raiders.
Typically the majority of the starters are given a break for the 4th game of the preseason in order to stay fresh for the first week of the regular season. So this means that its one final chance for those players on the chopping block to prove they belong here.
There are a couple players to watch for, one being Xavien Howard who will make his debut and potentially claim the starting role for one of the Dolphins corner backs. Another defensive player to watch for is Cameron Wake, who will likely be a game-time decision as he continues his return from a torn Achilles that ended his season last year.
Perhaps the most intriguing position battle in this game for the Dolphins comes on special teams between kick/punt returners Jakeem Grant and Damien Williams. Last week Grant had 1 punt return for 17 yards and Williams had 1 kick return for 15 yards. This may be the format the Dolphins use heading into the regular season in order to preserve current kick/punt returner Jarvis Landry for the offense as a full time receiver.
With the new season just around the corner, the players and fans excitement continue to build as we inch closer to what could be a very promising season for the Miami Dolphins.
