When the offensive line cannot protect your starting quarterback, a loss is usually what happens as the outcome of a game. The Miami Dolphins couldn’t protect a donut from a hungry bunch of kids. That’s how bad it was on Sunday for the offense.
QB Ryan Tannehill had no time, absolutely no time at all to get anything started for the Dolphins and was pressured for the entire game. It got so bad for Tannehill that the Miami faithful started to chant “Matt Moore” late in the fourth quarter. Head Coach Adam Gase stood by his quarterback stating that Tannehill is his go-to-guy for the rest of the season. I think that is a mistake, but I write not coach.
The Titans took advantage of a depleted left side of the offensive line and broke through countless time and owed Miami’s replacements and sacked Tannehill a total of six times.
Miami only had eight first downs and Tannehill went 12 for 18 for 191 yards and had two interceptions.
The run defense of the fins was non-existent (which is nothing new) and allowed Tennessee to control the ball for over 40 minutes. This will continue for the entire season I’m afraid and things do not look like it will improve anytime soon.
Next up for the Dolphins is a home game with, the red-hot Pittsburgh Steelers. Hold on tight FINS FANS this could be a rough ride ahead.
