What a turn around the Miami Dolphins did from a week ago, going from not protecting their quarterback to having all five of their starting lineman in the game at the same time and it showed what a difference that can make.
It was awesome to see RB Jay Ajayi come into his own and put up some impressive numbers for the day. Ajayi rushed for 204 yards on 25 carries and had two touchdowns, not too shabby at all.
With time in the pocket, QB Ryan Tannehill had a very impressive day. Tannehill went 24 for 32 for 252 yards. He definitely had the home crowd behind him this day who were cheering this time around instead of the boos that came his way a week ago.
This thing that I noticed about this game was the missed opportunities that the Dolphins have to capitalize on, twice Miami settled for field goals after it looked like Tannehill had throw TD passes. WR DeVante Parker dropped a makeable catch in the end zone and a TD catch made by TE Dominque Jones was overturned by a penalty for illegal formation. Both should not have happened and the Dolphins need to clean up these missed opportunities.
On the injury front cornerback, Tony Lippett left the game with a hamstring injury and tight end Dion Sims was evaluated for a possible concussion. Hope both players are okay and will return soon to the lineup.
It was great to see the Miami Dolphins turn things around against a tough opponent like the Pittsburgh Steelers. Now the question is can Miami sustain this week in and week out and turn their season around?
Next Sunday the Buffalo Bills will travel to Miami for another home game. If the Dolphins play like they did against the Steelers this past Sunday, they WILL get another win and let the season begin.
