Miami Dolphins Buffalo Bills Defensive Preview

Jake Whitehead previews the Miami Dolphins defense as they take on the tough Buffalo Bills' offense this Sunday.

After finally getting a much needed win the Miami Dolphins snapped their losing streak last week with a huge 30 -15 upset of the Pittsburgh Steelers. This week they prepare to take on the division rival Buffalo Bills in Miami this Sunday at 1 EDT.

It should be noted that the Bills may go into this game without star running back LeSean McCoy who was unable to finish practice due to a tight hamstring, If McCoy plays in this game I give the Bills the win 24 – 17. If McCoy is out the Dolphins win 20 – 10. Backup RB Mike Gillislee is a former Dolphins and would love to have a big game against his former team.

The result would change the Dolphins record to either 2-5 or 3-4 respectively. If the Dolphins want to pick up the crucial division win they’ll need their defense to find a way to stop not only potentially LeSean McCoy, but the evasive Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor. The injuries for the Dolphins this week start out with safety Reshad Jones who will almost certainly be out for the rest of the season with a torn rotator cuff. From here it’s cornerback @Xavien Howard (knee) did not practice, defensive end Jason Jones (not injury related) did not practice, cornerback Tony Lippett (hamstring) limited in practice, and lastly linebacker Jelani Jenkins (groin) full practice.

The Dolphins return men look to stay the same between Jarvis Landry and Jakeem Grant as they each returned one of the two punts against the Steelers. After getting the much needed win against the Steelers the Dolphins showed that they aren’t ready to give up on the season, yet and maybe this was the game to revitalize this team and turn them around to spring off a couple of consecutive wins, as they continue their bid for the playoffs.
