Miami Dolphins Are Finally Playoff Bound

RB Jay Ajayi had his third 200-yard rushing game helping defeat the Buffalo Bills 34-31.

Jay Ajayi had 206 yards rushing and a touchdown and had a 57-yard run in overtime to set up Andrew Franks to hit a 27-yard field goal with 47 seconds left to take Miami a step closer to clinching their first playoff berth since 2008. Miami has clinched the Wild Card with the help of the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs defeated the Denver Broncos 33-10 to help the Dolphins capture the Wild Card playoff spot. I would just like to say thank you very much Kansas City, the Dolphins, and their fans appreciate it, very much.

Congrats to Jay Ajayi who is the fourth player in NFL history to have at least three games with at least 200 rushing yards in a season. Ajayi who is just in his second season with the Dolphins, now joins players Earl Campbell, OJ Simpson and Tiki Barber for this record.

The Dolphins nearly blew this game as the Buffalo Bills overcame a 14-point deficit three times before taking the lead with 1:20 left in regulation. Kicker Andrew Franks forced overtime by kicking a career best 55-yard field goal. The Bills had their chances in overtime, Kicker Dan Carpenter missed from 45 yards and gave the ball to the Miami offense.

Late into overtime Jay Ajayi took over and broke open a 57-yard run which set up Andrew Franks to hit the game-winning field goal.

QB Matt Moore finished 16 of 30 for 233 yards and two touchdowns and had an interception against the Bills. Moore threw the ball deep throughout the game and hit his wide receivers for big gains.

The Bills defense helped the Miami offense score three touchdowns by missing tackles. Because of this, the Dolphins had built a 21-7 lead going into the second half.

WR DeVante Parker had a 56-yard touchdown on a short pass from Moore, which he bounced off Bills cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman.

I can not wait till next week. The final game of the regular season and the Miami Dolphins get a home game before playoffs against the New England Patriots. I would love to see Miami walk all over the Patriots and send them a message that the Dolphins will not be a one and done playoff team.

Here is the scenario for the Dolphins Wild Card game match-up, if Miami wins against New England in Week 17 and the Kansas City Chiefs lose to San Diego, Miami would move into fifth place in the AFC and would face the Houston Texans. If they lose to the New England Patriots they would remain in sixth place in the standings and their Wild Card match-up would be against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
